The Story Behind Our Candle Range - A Little Light for Mums Everywhere
When I first launched The Mamahood Collective, my goal was simple - to nourish mums from the inside out. I wanted to help you feel cared for, fuelled, and supported through the chaos of motherhood. But lately, I’ve been reminded that self-care isn’t just about what we feed our bodies - it’s also about how we nurture our minds.
That’s where this new range comes in.
Because motherhood can be loud, and peace doesn’t always mean silence. Sometimes, it’s found in the small rituals - the quiet moments that remind us to pause, breathe, and be present.
So, I went back to my roots.
When my daughter Florence was born, I had a small home fragrance business. She was an amazing sleeper (every mum’s dream!), and I filled my time making soy candles. Over the years, I missed that creative spark and the joy of sending my candles out into homes across New Zealand. And when a few of my lovely customers started asking if I’d ever bring them back… it just felt like the right time.
From there, The Mamahood Collective Candle Range was born.
Each candle was thoughtfully designed - from handpicking the fragrances to dreaming up the fun, relatable names that every mum can laugh and nod along to. (Because let’s be honest - who doesn’t need a “Calm Your Tatas” moment now and then?)
🕯 Smells Like Coffee & Chaos - for the mums who run on caffeine and crumbs, but keep showing up anyway.
🕯 Calm Your Tatas - for the days when deep breaths aren’t enough.
🕯 Let’s Pretend It’s Date Night - for those evenings when the only sparks are from your lighter.
🕯 Whisk Me Away - for when you crave five minutes of coconut-scented freedom.
Every candle is made from 100% natural soy wax - GMO-free, vegan, and sustainably sourced - and features cotton-paper wicks for a clean, even burn. They’re beautifully boxed, carefully packaged, and poured with a whole lot of heart.
Because lighting a candle shouldn’t feel indulgent. It should feel necessary.
A small reminder that you deserve moments of calm, too.
Here’s to slowing down, finding stillness in the chaos, and remembering that even five minutes can change the tone of your day. ✨
