FAQ

How long is the expiry of The Mamahood Collective products?

Our products have a Best Before date of one year that you will see alongside the batch number on the back of each pouch.

Can my children make these?

Yes absolutely! Every child deserves the experiences of baking in the kitchen, these mixes are perfect for them to do just that! The instructions are easy to follow and the hardwork has been done all that is needed is a couple of ingredients and then they are done. Please supervise when they are using the oven for the Cookies however.

Do the Lactation products work?

Galactagogues are certain types of herbs or foods that are believed to increase milk supply in breastfeeding women. The Galactagogues that we have used include oats, brewers yeast, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds and almonds. Alongside consuming our lactation range, it is vital that you make sure that you keep well hydrated. Milk is made up of over 80% water, therefore you need to make sure you are drinking at least 2.5 litres per day. (Handy tip: make sure you have a drink bottle filled and ready beside you before you sit down to breastfeed and ensure you drink each time while you feed).

You also need to make sure that you are eating nourishing foods each day to support yourself and your milk supply. Lots of fruit, vegetables, and protein rich foods such as red meat, chicken, pork, fish (are not only high in protein but also provide omega-3 fatty acids which are beneficial for both Mum and baby), eggs, dairy products (greek yoghurt, cottage cheese and cheeses), legumes (beans, lentils, chickpeas, nuts and seeds, Quinoa, hemp seeds, Tofu and leafy green vegetables.

Our whole range of products include protein, fibre and healthy fats within them. They are a great option for all mums and also breastfeeding Mums to increase their nutrients for the day. By adding the Lactation range into these foods also will further support you on your breastfeeding journey.

When will I see results with my milk supply?

Make sure to follow the above ideas for adding in more protein, nutrients and hydration into your day. When you are consuming the right types of food, keeping your body hydrated and feeding on demand your milk supply should adjust accordingly. Remember all bodies are different and results will vary.

Make sure you have consulted with your midwife or lactation consultant regarding any concerns you have as they will be able to give you further advice and suggestions to support you.

I have made some lactation biscuits with the Lactation Baking Blend, are my family able to eat them too?

Yes, of course they are safe for everyone.

Have you got any products that are Gluten Free or Dairy Free?

The Fudgey Choc & Raspberry Fudge Bites can be made Dairy Free using Coconut Oil instead of Butter. The chocolate that is in them is Solomons Gold (it is vegan, free from dairy, Gluten, nuts and soy). They are also Gluten Free by ingredient but please note they are manufactured alongside other Gluten products.

The Cookie Dough Fudge Bites can also be made Dairy free by making them with Coconut oil.

The Lactation Baking Blend, the Oat Free Lactation Baking Blend and the Lactation Hot Chocolate (this has Coconut Milk Powder in it) are all Dairy Free.

The Oat Free Lactation Baking Blend is Gluten Free by ingredient, however please note that it is manufactured alongside other Gluten products.
